Vehicle Summary: 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X
The top model in Mitsubishi's Lancer compact line, the Evolution is patterned after the company's rally-car racer. It follows a time-tested formula, which is to pack a powerful engine into an otherwise unassuming small car and set it apart visually with dynamic wheel designs and aggressive aerodynamic add-ons. Its turbocharged four-cylinder engine generates nearly 300 hp and puts all that power to the pavement via a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system. The base GSR version comes with a five-speed manual transmission, while the top MR model offers a six-speed sequential-shift automattic gearbox with paddle shifters. The latter also comes with upgraded suspension and braking systems for added handling abilities.
